If you’re just starting out, or even if you’re not, you may be looking for some free Continuing Professional Development (CPD)/Ongoing Professional Development (OPD) courses.
I’ve compiled the list below to provide an easy guide.
Alison: Alison has “free” courses, but you need to pay between $20-$35 to receive a certificate.
Blackdog Institute: an institute that investigates mental health from childhood to adulthood. They offer a mixture of education types, including courses, webinars and events.
Comorbidity Guidelines: courses with a focus on alcohol and other drugs. They also have webinars.
CPD for Therapists: a limited number of free courses (you may need to sign up for their newsletter).
eiseEducation: eise offers both short courses and free online webinars, both of which provide certificates upon completion.
Emerging Minds: with a child focus, Emerging Minds offers short courses and webinars, both on demand and live.
Headstrong Academy: Headstrong Academy offers short courses with a focus on inclusive practice.
Insight (Centre for alcohol and other drug training and workforce development): They offer short courses and webinars.
Mental Health Professionals Network (MHPN): MHPN has both live webinars and a collection of past webinars in its library. You can also create an account and link in with a network relevant to your particular interests.
The NOCD Academy: they offer education around OCD, but also other things like hoarding, anxiety, and exposure therapy. They have both home study courses and live webinars.
PESI: PESI regularly offers free webinars and courses. You can sort by price (lowest to highest) to find the free options in their catalogue.
PsychPD: PsychPD offers free webinars by clinical psychologists.
Sydney Centre for Creative Change: With a focus on creative therapies, the Sydney Centre for Creative Change occasionally offers free webinars.
Therapas: They offer a limited number of free courses that offer a certificate upon completion. They also have other free resources, like consent to release information forms that may be useful when starting private practice.
